Safecracker 40
Object: get each of the 16 columns to add to 40 Difficulty: Level 8 - Demanding Brand: Creative Crafthouse Types: Other Wood Puzzles, Dave Janelle Dimensions: 4.3 in diameter x 0.8 in / 11 cm diameter x 2 cm
Fantastic and unique puzzle based on a 1911 design. The object is to get each of the 16 columns of numbers to add to 40 at the same time. Can you find the combination?
There is a base ring and then 4 rings that rotate on top. To complicate matters, the top sets of rings are all notched, so they will expose or hide some of the numbers on the ring below as the rings are turned. Makes for a lot of possible combinations! It essentially turns the 16 columns into 24 possible columns. Its quite a challenge. I recommend you watch the video link.
Beautifully made in USA at our Spring Hill shop with highest quality alder rings and laser engraved numbers. Ergonomically sized to fit the palm nicely. There are 2 wood thicknesses available. They are both 4 ¼” dia, but the standard model uses 1/8” thick alder for the rings. The Thicker wood model uses ¼” thick alder for the rings. As I play with the puzzle, I prefer the standard model as just seems more elegant. PLEASE SELECT THE MODEL YOU WANT BELOW. The default is the standard model.
It will come unsolved in the package, but I do include a picture of the solved puzzle. To the best of my knowledge there is only 1 possible solution.
