This is a tough puzzle, harder than the Brotosaurus in my opinion. After two years I have finally solved it. Whew!

You think you have figured this puzzle out but then you haven't. Progress can be made in steps, but still are not finished. I gave up trying to get the diamond off for a while and concentrated on getting a second diamond on. After some time, I succeeded. But now my puzzle has two diamonds on it and I can't get either off! Tricky. But obviously it is possible.
