Product Description

Warning! The instructions and packaging are in German.

Twist the prism is a 3-D puzzle made from recycled plastic by Ingo Uhl. It consists of 12 different stones. These stones are made up of prisms. A rock consists of two prisms, two stones consist of three prisms and nine stones consist of 4 prisms. Eight of these stones are three dimensional and four are two-dimensional. The game also has a base platform. This has 38 triangular fields and is designed so that very many different symmetric three-dimensional structures can be created. Rough calculations have shown that 10 to the power 19 different buildings can be made. There is a record sheet for games that you have designed so that newly invented building can be recorded. Twist the prism is mainly played as a single person game, but can also be played in a group.

I am hoping that my review will give a unique perspective on this puzzle as I am blind but still love puzzles. Interesting twist on the age old polycube puzzle. Instead of polyforms made of cubes, this set uses a Triangular prism as it's monoform. The 4 planar pieces correspond to the Triamond and the 3 Tetramonds while the 3-D stones include: -two prisms stacked on top of each other. -A diamond with a third prism stacked on top. -3 formed by stacking a prism on top of a triamond. -3 formed by stacking two diamonds on top of each other(two having a overhang and 1 being convex). The base in cluded is quite nice, but isn't really sufficient for storage purposes on it's own. Also, best I can tell, ther is no way to position the pieces to fill the base.
