Hard but not impossible. After learning how to solve it various ways and a lot of practice you can get into the 3-to-4 minute solve rate time. The 90-seconds quoted by someone above is extremely rare. The stickers wear off after a really long time (hundreds of hours) but the cube itself lasts and lasts. Plastic cube held together by springs. The six center pieces rotate only, all of the edge pieces slide around as you rotate any one side. It's very fun to ask someone else to mix it up, and then solve it and give it back to them to mix it up again. Once you learn the moves you prefer (there are many various ways to solve - some are faster but more complex, some are simpler but longer) you can solve anyone's Rubik.
