Appropriately named, this metal "Pfefferminzstick" or "Peppermint Stick" has 5 strands that need to be disentangled and then reassembled in order to solve. A classic puzzle brought to you by Jean Claude Constantin.

this is one of those puzzles that remains interesting long after you figure it out, just for the way it moves. i've had the 4-rod version for years, and it's fun to play with. sadly, the ends on this 5-rod version weren't flattened perpendicular to the long axis after they were bent into shape, and this makes the puzzle incredibly uncomfortable to manipulate. a good design is all but ruined by a lack of attention to very simple details like this.
