You don’t need to be a lunatic to solve this puzzle. The Lunatic Lock is made from brushed aluminum which makes the puzzle lighter than other types of metal. Like any other Trick Lock, the goal is to open it by figuring out the hidden mechanism. Unlike other Trick Locks though, this puzzle doesn’t have a keyhole, so you won’t be needing any keys to unlock it. You’ll figure out soon enough if that’s a good or bad thing… The Lunatic Lock was designed by Gary Foshee who manufactures aluminum puzzles. Another one of his famous designs is the Ring Box, exchanged at the IPP29 in San Francisco. This is from our own brand of puzzles, PuzzleMaster.

I think I solved it quite easy, compared to what I expected. :D I don't mean it is easy to solve - I just got lucky to find the solution earlier than it should take. And the mechanism - very good! As my first trick lock puzzle, I am impressed. I recommend it to everyone.
Fantastic design! So simple and elegant. It's a must have for any puzzle enthusiast.
This is an awesome puzzle lock. I love the locking mechanism. It's quite clever. There are two reasons why I'm giving it a 4 of 5 rating. First, the finish could be a better. Though the puzzle looks good, it's not very comfortable to touch and the edges are sharp (why didn't Puzzlemaster make them smooth? Argh!). Second, the puzzle can almost be solved at random. I won't tell you how (of course!) but this is what happened when I first solved it. I was a little disappointed until I saw the locking mechanism. I do recommend anyone to get this lock, it is cheap compared to other puzzle locks.
My first impression was, "Is it broken?" You'll know what I mean when you pick it up. And the answer is "No, keep working on it." This is one that some will find quite easy and others will be completly baffled.
