Breakfast table

It’s a quiet start to the day. As the family dog rests on the floor beside the table, mom serves dad pancakes and the kids eat their favorite cereal. Toys strewn about signify the kids had already begun playing before they were called to eat. It’s almost 8am which means the neighborhood is awake. A school bus passes by the kitchen window but the kids in this house are still too young to attend. Dads’ briefcase is on the floor near the phone so he can grab it on the way out the door.
