A colorful twist on the classic pentomino puzzle.
This version features two difficulty levels and several unique challenges:
Hard mode: keep all pieces face-up without flipping.
Easy mode: flipping pieces is allowed.
Challenges: Place all pieces inside the frame so that pieces of the same color follow the rules:
1. Do not touch each other – not by side, not even by corner. (1 hard (only flat sides up) / 3 easy solutions (pieces can face any side up)
2. Do not touch by side, but corners are allowed. (1 hard (only flat sides up) / 19 easy solutions (pieces can face any side up)
3. Must touch by side. (2 hard (only flat sides up) / 5 easy solutions (pieces can face any side up)
Bonus challenge: Arrange the pieces so that when the lid is closed, the name “4 Colored Pentomino” is displayed in all four colors — two colors per line. At least one solution exists.
If you ignore the colors altogether, there are 67 (2339) possible solutions.
Once solved, the puzzle can be secured with a closing lid so the pieces won’t get lost. With its perfect pocket size, it also makes an ideal travel companion.
