Donjon (or Dungeon) is a formidable mechanical puzzle designed by Lucie Pauwels and crafted in beautifully contrasting Ash and Wenge. Compact yet uncompromising at 60 × 60 × 83 mm, this tower‑shaped challenge hides a full 3×3×3 “dungeon” inside—accessible only through a fiercely restricted opening.
At its core, Donjon includes a 5‑unit key piece and seven additional pieces that must be maneuvered through a narrow 1×3 entry gap to be contained completely inside the box. Once assembled, the key piece locks everything in place, creating a strikingly symmetric tower. But getting there is no small feat.
With 31 moves required and extremely limited access, every insertion demands precision, planning, and dexterity. Three pieces feature 90° corners that heavily constrain orientation, and the tight entry forces puzzlers to rely on gravity and careful tilting to guide pieces into position.
