A nice compact burr set from which you can construct at least 40 6-piece burrs. . Contains pieces 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 12, 14, 15, 17, 21, 22, 23, of Coffin's "25 notchable pieces." Two drawbacks - 1. The box is kind of inconvenient - there's no lid and it's narrow and easy to knock over. An odd design choice 2. It doesn't include any instructions as to which combinations make a burr. Hint: Send to PuzzleMaster for the "solution" which lists 40 possible combinations. (as the other reviewer indicates, there are also puzzle books that will list possibilities) Great set for getting serious about burr puzzles

Sturdy wood, similar in size to the old "Charles Ebert Collection" burr puzzles. Thirteen pieces, no two alike, but 3 mirror images. They could have sanded the pieces a little better, which is why I gave it a 4. There are no suggestions or hints for building 6-piece burr puzzles from this collection, so it's up to you to build what you can. The pieces can be seen in Stewart Coffin's book, "The Puzzling World of Polyhedral Dissections," page 59. This "Boite 13" box contains 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 12, 14, 15, 17, 21, 22, 23, of Coffin's "25 notchable pieces." Using 6 of the pieces, and *not* the unnotched piece, I was able to build Coffin's Burr #305. This box is a lot of fun.
