Product Info
A very unique and unusual puzzle by Jean-Claude Constantin. A long ruler has had hinges added such that it can fold into many different shapes. The objective of the puzzle is to fold the puzzle into the square shape so that it can fit into the frame. Beware: it's more difficult than it looks!
Made in laser-cut wood, plastic, and stainless steel by Jean-Claude Constantin. Jean-Claude Constantin lives in Germany, where he designs and manufactures many different wood and metal puzzles, as well as magic tricks.

I don't like 2D packing puzzles much because I don't have any solving method and the complex shapes of the late ones prevent me to developp one. It often becomes a try and fail cycle repaeting endlessly. This one is different. Indeed, it is a kind of 2,5D packing puzzle as there is 2 intricated 2D levels to use: each time the ruler is able to turn it changes of level allowing another part to pass under or over it. I solved that puzzle as a paper puzzle such as sudoku puzzle and it was very pleasant to be able to manipulate it besides of writing and erasing. It is not that difficult with a methodical approach bit it will surely give you a great sensation of achievment.
