The crafting work of Hakone & Odawara have been passed down through generations from the Edo era. Today, craftsmen continue these traditions and explore new and interesting high quality works so that the world of the "Karakuri box" continues to evolve.
The 2 semi-circles on the top of this elegant box display a mysterious pattern. There are two plates that will move and then stop at every line where they fit together. It has 10 different combinations of patterns, and there are some hidden moves. When you discover it you will see something impressive and the drawer will open. Even the shape of the handle gives a hint regarding its solution.
