UGEARS models are a unique combination of wood and mechanics. UGEARS feature easy-to-assemble wooden pieces and gears that actually move that will bring delight to novice and experienced modelers alike. Made with laser-cut high quality plywood, there is no glue required to assemble these intricate masterpieces. Detailed step-by-step color instructions are provided in 10 languages.
From a technical point of view, the Nativity Scene model is on the simpler mechanics and assembly side of the Ugears collection. We wanted the whole family, including younger children, to be able to participate and enjoy putting it together. Being a fine piece of a traditional Christmas decor, the model nevertheless has a basic gear mechanism that animates certain elements of the set. To start the mechanism, manually rotate any of interconnected gears that you will see on the sides and on the top of the model. This will make the star on the roof of the barn move while at the same time rotating the gears with carved designs and animating the background of the scene.
