Product Info
This is a very high quality metal puzzle. You won't find a puzzle like this of this quality anywhere else. It is made of stainless steel and brass.
This hefty version of the hedgehog puzzle is new from RADEMIC PUZZLES and combines two different types of puzzles. It consists of an outer HEXA Cage and an inner HEXA Cage.
The outer cage is a collapsible three-dimensional jigsaw of sorts that consists of 14 unique parts. It starts from the bottom circular base, then twelve curved hexagonal parts to the top circular cap. Assembly is the difficult portion of the outer hexa cage since it is held together delicately at the grooved segments. Outer Hexa Cage ships unassembled.
The objective of the smaller HEXA cage is to remove the small hexagon segment. Removal is not as usual as it may seem and requires the correct positioning. It takes a bit of practice, but after a few attempts you will learn the specific approach! The inner HEXA cage does not disassemble.

I like it a lot. On the one hand, it poses a challenge by having to remove the part from the cylinder. On the other hand, mix a little puzzle and skill to assemble the exterior "cage"
It looks insanely cool. It looks like it belongs in a fusion reactor aboard an alien spaceship. So this adds points. There are 2 puzzles within this puzzle. The outside is essentially an assembly puzzle. I have mixed feelings on this puzzle. It is incredibly satisfying to sleuth the position of each piece. It's also satisfying to complete the puzzle. Very satisfying. The reason this is so satisfying though is because while the pieces are incredibly well machined with very tight clearances, they still sit a little loose in assembled form until the whole puzzle is complete. But because these clearances are so tight it's sometimes hard to fit the right piece in the rest of the puzzle without knocking the whole thing over. So yeah it's an incredible feeling once you've assembled it and know that you won't ever have to do that again lol. The inner puzzle is fine. I have mixed feelings here too. It's not really a challenge to see how it would work. The challenge here is getting the piece to the right spot with a lack of dexterity. If you have bigger hands, well this puzzle just became a LOT tougher, as you have to manipulate the little hedgehog in the middle to solve this puzzle. It is a lot of trial and error. That said, I am still glad I picked it up, and I do have a sense of pride in completing both of these.
