Product Info

Shrine is a masterful demonstration of Lucie Pauwels’ versatility, moving from her renowned packing designs to a complex and beautiful interlocking challenge. Crafted from vibrant Bubinga and contrasting Acacia, this puzzle is a tactile delight that looks as much like a piece of architectural art as it does a mechanical mystery.

The Objective

Your goal is to securely encase the central Acacia block within a precise structural assembly made of six interlocking Bubinga pieces. To solve the Shrine, you must discover how the unique protuberances and cutouts of the 1x3x7 voxel pieces align to form a perfectly solid, finished shape where every hole is filled and every piece is locked in place.

Why You’ll Love It

  • A Sequential Assembly Challenge: Unlike standard interlocking puzzles, the Shrine requires a "Sequential Assembly" mindset.

  • Premium Material Contrast: The deep, reddish hues of the Bubinga pieces provide a stunning frame for the lighter Acacia block held at its heart.

  • Accessible Yet Deep: While the end shape isn't immediately obvious, the logic of the interlocking slots makes it a "fun exploration" rather than a frustrating struggle. As noted by expert Kevin Sadler, this is a "beauty suitable for all puzzlers."

  • Precision Engineering: With dimensions of 97 mm x 97 mm x 97 mm, the Shrine has a substantial, high-quality feel that rewards careful manipulation and thoughtful solving.

"Finding which pieces can interlock with each other shows that there are not many possible assemblies to try... it is just a matter of thought to assemble one piece into another and progressively build up a pleasing shape." — Kevin Sadler
