Product Info
A beautiful multi-colored laser-cut wooden puzzle. The object is move all four handles by manipulating the five sliders up and down and create a path through the four different mazes so the top handle can be completely removed. The other three handles can’t be removed. 209 is a strange name for a puzzle, but it’s actually the exact number of moves needed to solve it. Invented by Jean Claude Constantin from Germany.

Extremely confusing trying to keep track of the mazes of this puzzle. I give it four stars for clever design, but I didn't find it to be much fun--rather, it felt: punishing, painful, stress inducing. But somehow the puzzle obsessed me, and I eventually got out the one removable slider. (In total, I spent several hours on it.) By the way, I drew models of each slider on separate slips of paper, and moved little dots of paper on them representing the pins, as I worked. I don't see how I could have done the puzzle without this. It was hard for me to see inside it, and when I knew what was going on inside, it was hard to keep in mind what was going on. I like that the pins can be removed by unscrewing one end. You can reset the puzzle that way if you want. This is a good puzzle for someone who is okay with buying a puzzle and leaving it unsolved (in case they give up).
