Note: Our level rating system is different than Hanayama's. Hanayama's level 1 is equivalent to our level 5.... level 6 is equivalent to our level 10.
"Dial it up" with this new attractive pocket-sized puzzle in the Hanayama series. You must solve the puzzle by turning the dials on both sides (front and back), until you separate all four pieces. Cleverly devised, the solution is satisfying delightful.

Good puzzle, and quite tough for a level eight. It does require very much trial and error though, of which I personally am not a fan. That being said however it's still a very high quality puzzle by Hanayama and if something along the lines of cracking a safe is your cup of tea, than this would definitely be the one for you. Also is much easier to put together than take apart, because you can study the (surprisingly simple) mechanism and understand what's going on. I would recommend getting it if you like puzzles similar to nutcase and cylinder.
Amazing design! The hidden inner structure is truly stunning. I wonder how such idea was not present up to now. Once you see what's inside, you'll get fast how it works, but you still might be stumbled when taking it apart in or putting it back together the next times (just like I am, although I know perfectly well what should be happening).
This is my new favourite Hanayama. Very fun to play with, and has an interesting design that is difficult to solve until you get it apart and see what you have to work with. I only wish the slots on the center dials stood out a little more to make it easier to manipulate. I don't have much for fingernails and it can be difficult to turn. Other than that, great puzzle!
I was really excited about this puzzle because it looks amazing and it also feels great when you start playing with it. Also, the shape and how the two bigger pieces move is really appealing. However, the solution (how the two middle pieces move) makes you feel cheated because it's practically trial and error with a black box that's not that comfortable to manipulate and once you have seen the puzzle put apart, it's too easy to separate it again (putting the puzzle back together is pretty simple).
