This puzzle is a personal favorite of mine. No, the solution isn't terribly complicated, and I also agree that it's unfortunate that you can't see the internal mechanism to really study it... but I ultimately find neither of these quibbles detract significantly from my appreciation of the object itself. The finish is beautiful, it feels great in the hand, it's attractive on the shelf, and the sounds it makes are just so satisfying. The solution is elegant, logical, and amusing if not super challenging. It's one of my favorites to just grab and fiddle with, even knowing full well how it works, because it's just an all around really nice puzzle box.

Certainly kept me captivated though I'm a bit disappointed there wasn't more to do after I opened it. Would have liked some way to see the inner-workings. Overall a satisfying challenge and looks great on a shelf.
